Throughout my journey with this project, I learned a lot about water systems and myself. I learned I can make a dramatic change with minimal effort. Making a water system provides a sustainable way to keep plants thriving. I learned that 1 hose can water big areas by poking holes in the hose. I am happy I learned this because now I can create more systems that could water my plants at home or water plants around Hawaiʻi. I learned more about myself during this project. I learned that I am a better student when it comes to hands on and out door activities. During this project I wasn't much of a help to the classroom part of the project. But when we put our project in action, I felt I was a great contribution. I enjoyed doing this project because we were able to build a water system that will nourish a bunch of young native plants. In are assigned area, Hawaiian ensemble planted numerous native Hawaiian plants. Giving back to the land is the best satisfaction. The only thing I disliked about this project was having to deal with an assignment so big for a duration of 10 weeks. I am a bad procrastinator and having the thought of finishing a huge project gave me stress. If I were to improve this project, I would add 10 more hoses and poke holes in all of them. I think having 10 more hoses all around the campus would help plants get the necessary water they need.

I feel that i've learned a lot about sustainability on campus through this project. We were challenged to come up with ideas that would better our school through sustainability and come up with a solution that would actually solve that problem. We focused not he water waste on campus, particularly the water sprinkler system. We showed our concerns to Amy Brinker as well as the groundsmen on campus which helped us get a clear picture of water usage on campus. We learned a lot about our school as well as its habits and the amount of water we waste was very eye opening and encouraged us to want to make a change.
I feel we were successful in the fact that we completed our project but I feel that our legacy will encourage future groups to go above and beyond. We ended up having to change a lot of our ideas because of how timely or hard they would be. This project was meant to challenge us to open up the eyes of our school to want to make a change on our campus. This main idea of this project was to encourage change and I feel that it has taught me a lot throughout this fourth quarter. This project was a challenge at times but it taught me a lot about patience, perseverence, and how obtainable sustainability can be if you put your mind to it. Some ways to improve this project would to actually start this in the beginning of the year rather than later. We as students should start our bug lists in the beginning of the year and take data as it changes naturally. From that data we can research and make this project less rushed and more obtainable. These types of sustainability projects take time and I feel students would benefit and show better outcomes over time. Throughout this project I was able to learn a lot. Something that I learned about sustainability is how easy it actually is. I learned that its not that hard at all to conserve energy, water, and take care of the land. I was able to learn new ways to create sustainable features such as creating a water system by simply using a hose. This project was very interesting and taught me a lot. I liked how much freedom we had in the sense that we were able to conduct this project from start to finish. We were able to think of things here on our campus that really bothered us and we were able to try and come up with ways in which we could fix it. Something I didn't like about this project was I was kind of unaware to due dates on certain things so it became a little difficult to stay on task and get things done on time. However, this project taught me a lot and made me grow as a person. I now not only have a greater appreciation for our land, but for all the people who take care of it as their everyday jobs. I noticed how hard it was doing all this research but I can't imagine doing it everyday. I have a greater found knowledge for all that is around me and all that I have a responsibility to take care of. My teammates were great and taught me how to work with others and how to get things done as a group. Overall, this was a very awesome project in my opinion.
Currently we are trying to finish up our work such as our final report, project, and presentation slide. We have also been advised to let our teachers know when our presentations are as well as our parents so they can come and watch us speak. In order to do so though we still need to complete our presentation slide and figure out who's speaking what.
Today Mr. Blake is on another meeting with school. Today is a work day where we can make corrections and revisions tour draft that has to be turned in. One of our members of the team took a trip to maui for track states. With one less member we won't get as much done but as of right now we are just making corrections.
